Vacation Cottage Rentals
A cottage is normally a small dwelling located in a rural area or village. The term is most frequently used to describe a weekend or summer vacation home for a city dweller at a popular vacation destination. The owner of the cottage frequently rents the Cottage as a source of income when he was not occupying it. A vacation cottage rental will normally have one or sometimes two bedrooms, with a small kitchen and living area. If the vacation destination is a beach and the cottage is near the beach, it is referred to as a beach cottage.
Vacation Cabin/Chalet Rental
A vacation cabin is a small, roughly built structure, usually built with a wood exterior and typically found in rural areas. A vacation cabin rental will usually have only one or two rooms and is intended as a step up from camping in a tent. Larger and more refined vacation cabins are frequently referred to as chalets, which include many luxuries that a cabin would not. A chalet could have any number of bedrooms, and include entertaiment and dining rooms.
