Frequent Rental Questions

Can I bring my pet?

When the rental home is listed, the owner indicates whether pets are acceptable at the home.  Look for a Paw-print icon in the property details for rental homes that accept pets.

What are the local attractions, activities, restaurants?

On the sidebar to the right of the property listings is a section titled About the Area. Links to information about the area are provided, including local attractions, activitities and businesses of interest to travelers.

How do I contact the owner?

On the detailed listing page is all the contact information provided by the owner or rental owner.  In addition, we provide an inquiry form to send a request for more information about the property or its availability directly to the owner.

How do I make a booking?

Bookings are made directly with the rental manager or owner, using the contact information provided in the details of the property listing.

What type of deposit and payment due dates can I expect?

Each rental owner sets his own policy about deposit and payment schedules. A deposit of 10 – 50% of the rental amount is typical. Request a written Rental Agreement from the rental owner to spell out the details of when payments are required.

How are cancellation and refunds handled?

Cancellation and refund information is usually posted by the owner in the detailed information page of the property listing. This information should also be spelled out in the written Rental Agreement provided by the owner.

What happens when I arrive at the property?

Some rental owners send you a key in advance, while some actually live on site and will meet you, and some arrange for their rental manager to meet you at the property. Make sure you are given details of some one you can contact if something goes wrong.

What if there is a problem with the rental home?

It is in your best interest and the owner’s interest to fix any problems immediately. Contact information for the owner or their local representative should be included rental agreement and also in the rental home. This contact person will be your best resource to quickly resolve any issues.

What happens when I leave?

Check out procedures should be included with the rental agreement you were provided. Since cleaning standards vary, it is important to know how much the owners expect you to clean. At minimum, the rental should be left tidy.
